Details
This contest celebrates organizations taking steps toward economic reconciliation. Every action—whether a major initiative or a first small step—creates ripples of change that shape our collective history. Whether you've transformed your entire supply chain or started your first conversation about reconciliation, each step forward creates momentum for others to follow.
We welcome all stories with gratitude, recognizing that action is the catalyst for change. Your experience can become the spark that inspires others to begin their own journey toward reconciliation.
Eligibility
Open to all businesses and organizations operating in Manitoba
Initiatives must have taken place within the last 24 months
Organizations must have explicit permission from any Indigenous partners, employees, or suppliers mentioned in the submission
Submission Requirements
Written submissions must be over 150 words to a maximum of 500 words
Some prompts for writing your story:
Initiative Description
- Clearly describe your reconciliation initiative
- Explain how it began and evolved
- Detail specific actions taken and resources committed
- Highlight challenges faced and how they were overcome
Impact Assessment
- Quantifiable outcomes (e.g., number of Indigenous hires, contract values)
- Qualitative impacts on both Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants
- Long-term benefits and sustainable changes implemented
- Testimonials from involved stakeholders (with their permission)
- If you haven’t completed the journey or are just getting started, what impact do you hope to have
Learning Journey
- Key insights gained during implementation
- How the initiative changed your organization, processes, etc.
- Unexpected lessons and pivotal moments
- Future plans and commitments
Supporting Documentation
- Letters of support from Indigenous partners (if applicable)
- Photos with permissions
- Media coverage (if applicable)

- Send your story document and supporting materials to directory@indigenouschambermb.ca.
- Provide signed permission from all individuals featured
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline: May 16, 2025
- Winner will be announced: June 2025 for National Indigenous History Month

One winner will be selected at random to receive an original artwork by Indigenous artist, Riley Osborne
